A calm spatial layer, right where you already look.
Apertura uses the space around the Mac camera area for glanceable status, a temporary file shelf, quick actions, configured machine views and optional AI workflows. The current public download is an older signed, non-notarized Apple Silicon test build; checkout remains closed pending the verified launch release.

Key features
- 01
Notch command surface
The notch becomes a glanceable, always-available control strip: actions and context without window switching.
- 02
Quick capture & shelf
Drop files, notes and snippets onto the notch shelf and move them between apps and devices without breaking flow.
- 03
Live status at a glance
Timers, meetings, system state and platform signals surface quietly where your eyes already are.
- 04
Privacy-first, on-device
Built native in Swift; intelligent features run on-device via Ember Edge. Nothing leaves the Mac by default.

How this track works
Audience on the left, the published Ember stack in the middle, capabilities on the right. Every node is copied from this track in the public register.

Tiny actions should not demand full-window attention.
Checking a timer, holding a file for the next application or viewing one configured machine can pull attention into menus and full applications. Apertura explores a smaller spatial layer for those moments.
Attention mismatch
A one-second status question often opens a full application and displaces the work already on screen.
Temporary work becomes clutter
Files and snippets needed for the next action become permanent desktop or folder debris.
Data paths disappear behind slogans
“On-device” can obscure which behavior is local, which contacts configured machines and which invokes an AI backend.
Glance, hold, then act — with each path named.
The design is organized by attention distance rather than module count. Local product behavior, configured fleet connections and user-invoked AI workflows are described separately.
A glance layer
Time, meetings, media state and available machine signals can appear briefly around the camera area.
A reversible shelf
Files, text and images can wait between applications, with keyboard and menu paths equivalent to drag-and-drop.
Explicit data routes
Clipboard and system statistics stay local unless an invoked AI workflow includes them; AI may use an authenticated backend or on-device mode.
Release truth
The test build, pending notarized replacement and closed checkout are shown as separate states.
One small surface, five deliberate moments.
Glance
Read a nearby meeting, timer, media state or available local signal without opening another window.
Hold
Place selected files or text on a temporary shelf by drag, keyboard or menu action.
Expand
Deliberately expose capture tools, clipboard history, configured fleet views or automation controls.
Choose a path
Keep local behavior local, or explicitly select an authenticated-backend or on-device AI workflow.
Return
Dismiss the layer and return attention to the work that was already on screen.
Four implementation boundaries the public page can support.
Adaptive camera-area surface
The product page describes physical notch, punch-out and floating-island presentation modes.
Shelf & capture surface
The named public capabilities include clipboard history, a file tray and screenshot annotation.
Configured fleet connection
Named Macs and servers can be viewed through configured SSH or Tailscale connections when their hosts provide data.
AI route selection
The current product page names both an authenticated backend and an on-device mode; no blanket local-only claim is made.
For work that moves between moments, files and machines.
Developers
Hold a file or snippet between tools and inspect configured machine signals without turning the surface into a full operations dashboard.
Creators
Keep references and exports on a temporary shelf while the canvas remains the primary workspace.
Meeting-heavy professionals
See nearby meeting context and reach capture tools without displacing the current document.
Multi-machine operators
View explicitly configured machines through the connection paths described on the product surface.
Questions, answered.
Does Apertura work on Macs without a notch?
The current public product page says it can reshape for a notch or punch-out and use a floating island on external or older displays. This introduction does not independently certify every display configuration.
What data leaves my Mac?
The public product page says clipboard and system statistics stay local unless you invoke an AI workflow that includes them. It names both an authenticated backend and an on-device AI mode. Runtime packets, retention and telemetry have not been independently verified here.
Is this the production release?
No production release is claimed here. The current public download is described as an older signed, non-notarized Apple Silicon test build. A notarized replacement and checkout remain pending.
